after scouting out alinea's location and browsing cb2, we made the twenty minute walk to pequod's pizza located in chicago's lincoln park neighborhood. due to the large amount of snow still on the sidewalks, this walked proved to be more difficult than expected.
we walked in around four o'clock, and found the small restaurant practically empty. seated at a both for two, we placed our order for a small pan pizza with pepperoni. pequod's has blackhawks gear plastered all over the walls, and would probably be a good place to catch a game if you are a fan.
the pizza would take about thirty minutes to cook, so i ordered a chimay blue to sip on in the meantime. the chimay blue is a nice belgian strong ale brewed my monks that i have had many times before. the beer list at pequod's as a whole is pretty modest, with the chimay being the only real gem on the list.
topped with a generous portion of pepperoni, the pan pizza featured a wonderful crispy caramelized crust. being that we were here to try the pizza, and not satisfy an appetite, the small was more than enough for us, and we even left a piece behind.
