elizabeth (2) - chicago, il

www.elizabeth-restaurant.com
4835 n. western unit d
chicago, il 60625

i am going to keep this short as i just don't have the time to write like i used to, but i honestly cannot say enough good things about this meal and elizabeth as a whole. this was our second time at the restaurant, and the experience definitely lived up to the memories of our first meal. naming standout courses would be tough as almost every dish was excellent, but i will say that the corn soup/wheat biscuit dish was absolutely phenomenal. i urge anyone who is interested in this type of dining to go to elizabeth asap...you will not be disappointed!

next (bocuse d'or) - chicago, il

www.nextrestaurant.com
953 west fulton market
chicago, il 60607

this was our first meal at next, and our expectations of the restaurant itself along with the specific menu being served were both met and easily surpassed. the service style reminded me very much of alinea, where each staff member was professional, but also personable, humorous, and easy to converse with. the menu itself was a celebration of paul bocuse the chef along with a tribute to the cooking contest bearing his name. the meal was one of the richest and most filling tasting menus i have yet encountered, and falls in my top ten of all time. if you have the chance to obtain tickets, i definitely recommend doing so.
