element - st. louis, mo
1419 carroll street
st. louis, mo 63104

aside from being left to stand at an abandoned hostess stand for longer than acceptable and the restaurant being out of four items i wanted to order, our meal at element was fairly successful. the dishes we ordered ranged from decent to excellent, with the star of the show being the duck breast entrĂ©e served with scrapple, brussels sprouts, and apple butter. will i be back to element? probably someday, but there was nothing about the experience that would compel me to rush back in lieu of revisiting a place like farmhaus, the libertine, or cleveland heath where i have had better meals at a similar price point.
bone marrow - smoked pears, bacon, herbs, grilled bread

pork belly - french prunes, walnuts, blue cheese

gnocchi - black pepper, pecorino, lemon, herbs, olive oil

duck breast - scrapple, brussels sprouts, apple butter

fish stew - market fish, potato, cabbage, fennel, kielbasa, fish broth

"baked alaska"
